Rumor: 5 Beloved LEGO Games May Be Getting Switch 2 Versions

Five popular LEGO games may be getting Switch 2 upgrades, according to some recently spotted promotional materials at Zurich Pop Con. The purported upgrades cover half a decade’s worth of titles, beginning with the very first LEGO game for the Switch.

Zurich Pop Con is an annual Swiss convention dedicated to gaming, anime, manga, cosplay, and pop culture. The 2025 edition of the event kicked off on Saturday, September 27. Its exhibitors include publishers showcasing their new and upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 games.

Multiple LEGO Games Spotted Under Switch 2 Branding at Zurich Pop Con

According to some newly surfaced images of the show floor, the convention includes a banner grouping five existing LEGO games for the original Nintendo Switch as Switch 2 releases. LEGO City Undercover, LEGO DC Super-Villains, and LEGO Harry Potter Collection are all listed, together with LEGO Jurassic World and the critically acclaimed LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

Nintendo Switch LEGO Games Possibly Getting Switch 2 Upgrades

  • LEGO City Undercover (2017)
  • LEGO DC Super-Villains (2018)
  • LEGO Harry Potter Collection (2018)
  • LEGO Jurassic World (2019)
  • LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (2022)

None of the listed titles have yet been confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2 upgrades. Assuming the banner wasn’t printed in error, the timing of its appearance suggests that the official announcement of these new versions could be imminent. What’s less clear is whether they are meant to be free or paid. Nintendo itself hasn’t shied away from paid upgrades, having already released over half a dozen premium Switch 2 revisions of Switch games. Third-party publishers have so far displayed more reluctance to do so, though a few did follow suit, as underlined by the recent examples of Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 and Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar.

Hypothetical Switch 2 versions of Switch LEGO games could offer upgraded resolutions and higher framer rates, among other technical improvements. The prospect of a LEGO City Undercover Switch 2 version may be particularly exciting to some fans, as vocal sections of the community have been calling for this upgrade for months now. This title was the first-ever LEGO game for the Switch, although it doesn’t run the best, with its performance being particularly problematic in co-op. As such, it has clear room for improvement on the stronger hardware that the Switch 2 provides.

The latest LEGO game for a Nintendo console is LEGO Voyagers, released earlier this month, on September 15. Unlike the five aforementioned titles, Voyagers isn’t a TT Games production but is developed by Light Brick Studios. It’s also not an action adventure, instead focusing on co-op puzzle-platforming gameplay. LEGO Voyagers is available for both the Switch and its successor. A dedicated Switch 2 release exists, but its technical upgrades are also unlocked at no extra cost when playing the standard Switch edition on the newer system.
